Canopy x Grain de Malice As fashion brands strive for sustainability, they face a sobering truth: their packaging decisions wield significant environmental consequences. While paper is often lauded as a greener alternative to plastic, its popularity contributes to the felling of over three billion trees each year – many from irreplaceable Ancient and Endangered Forests.
The good news is that design and systems innovation and material alternatives are already available to make less harmful packaging possible. Award-winning not-for-profit Canopy will co-present with one of its fashion brand partners, Grain de Malice, who are working to reduce the risk of Ancient and Endangered Forests in their paper packaging supply chain and eliminate their sourcing through increasing recycled materials and engaging their suppliers to explore Next Generation Solutions that use alternative fibres instead of forests.
This session will inspire business leaders by unpacking some of the tailor-made solutions that Canopy and its brand partners have collaborated on, setting a higher bar for sustainable packaging that keeps vital forests standing.
