LPG propellant 3.2bar is a mixture of propane, isobutane and n-butane with a pressure of 3.2 ±
0.2bar and a 1.3-butadiene content of less than 0.1% by weight. It’s the most widely used due to
its technical versatility and cost.
This product is obtained from the distillation of petroleum in the form of fraction C3 (propane) and C4 (butane / isobutane). Impurities are eliminated from both fractions and deodorized, later for the manufacture of the propellant the C4 fraction is mixed with fraction C3 until the target pressure 3.2bar at 20ºC is reached. This mixture does not have a fixed composition, since it depends on the ratio of isobutane / n-butane obtained from the crude used as raw material.
