myDerm employs Honeywell’s propellant for its sun cream spray

Clinical sun care brand, myDerm, uses Honeywell’s Solstice propellant for its new suncare product: ‘Mineral SPF 50 Clinical Sunscreen Continuous Spray’, reports World Aerosols.

Honeywell’s Solstice Propellant (HFO-1234ze) is a new, non-flammable aerosol propellant that has an ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) and a low photochemical reactivity. It also helps to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG), unlike alternative methods frequently used in aerosol products.

“Our newest sunscreen is not only dermatologist-recommended, but also Hawaii-approved with the highest formulation standards. This new formula is free of isobutane, oxybenzone, octinoxate and parabens, and the incorporation of Honeywell’s Solstice Propellant also enables us to help protect people without sacrificing performance or impact on the environment”, says Diana Alderson, Vice President of Marketing at myDerm.

“Brands like myDerm that place importance on sustainability are turning to Honeywell Solstice Propellant for its superior performance and reduced environmental impact”, commented Joanna Minion, General Manager, Aerosols, Honeywell Advanced Materials.
