Press Release | ArcelorMittal becomes an Official Partner of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
ArcelorMittal is one of the world’s leading steel and mining company, with a presence in 60 countries and primary steelmaking facilities in 16 countries. In 2022, ArcelorMittal had revenues of $79.8 billion and crude steel production of 59 million metric tonnes, while iron ore production reached 45.3 million metric tonnes.
Using its innovation and high-quality knowledge, ArcelorMittal becomes an official partner of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, held in Paris. The steel production company will be responsible for manufacturing the Olympic torches and cauldrons, which will be lit through the opening ceremonies and throughout the Games.
ArcelorMittal’s torches and cauldrons will contribute to Paris’ Olympic environmental ambition as they will have a low carbon footprint. The company will reveal their method of production later on in the year, but this could be down to the use of recycled steel or low carbon energy.
