Director
Thierry Denis, an entrepreneur from the retail sector, chose to change paths 15 years ago to
devote himself to printing and paper embellishment work by taking over the Asdourian & Gustave
Gernez workshops and then the L.André Establishments & Cie to create Ateliers-A.
His positioning and his vision of the work of craftsmen have given new impetus to these
exceptional workshops.
They are the goldsmiths of invitations, greeting and business cards or also envelopes which can
be made on the basis of eight traditional techniques mastered in the workshops by the craftsmen:
engraving, soft waist, stamping , typo, typo-relief, embossing, hot foil stamping and offset.
Therefore,Thierry Denis accompanies large luxury groups, institutions such as the Senate, the
National Assembly, the Prime Minister’s office and numerous embassies around the world, as well
as major law and strategy firms. A vast network of high-end customers which allows the company
to enjoy an international reputation, labeled “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” and “Made in
France ».
Thierry Denis is also concerned about the transmission of know-how. “There is a real issue
regarding the skill to be transmitted. The know-how of the workshops is highly recognized in
terms of quality. The succession of the youngest who work in pairs with the oldest is essential,”
he explains.
It is with this in mind that he intervenes within Format A5, a group of graphic arts professionals,
who share their expertise and their passion for print during conferences and training sessions.
