Vibrantz Technologies on HTP inks, waterborne coating and more
Vibrantz is the leading supplier of ceramic, glass and porcelain enamel coatings. Their materials can be found in high-value specialty products in markets such as packaging, automotive, construction and home appliances. They provide organic and mineral materials for functional or decorative coatings on all types of substrates such as glass, ceramics, metals and plastics. Their products are tailored with our customers in mind so we can provide multiple techniques to apply our materials like spraying, screen-printing, inkjet, laser etching, pad printing, and brushing to name a few.
2022 was the year of glass. Vibrantz was able to capitalize on that through the 100+ years of heritage of glass frits and enamels experience acquired through its legacy companies, Ferro Corporation and Prince International Corporation. More than ever, our glass decoration solutions (coatings, inks and enamels, forehearth colorants) are thought to enhance sustainability for the glass container industry. This year, Vibrantz has launched three key innovations for glass organic decoration. Come and learn about these innovations and more at the Paris Packaging Week from January 25 to 26th 2023 in booth C13!
Waterborne Coating (WBC) – 80°C curing coating:
The latest waterborne coating materials developed by Vibrantz provide remarkable adhesion and durability. Just like Vibrantz’ usual high-end standards. You can save a minimum of 50% of your curing energy as this innovative system needs to only be cured at 80°C.
If you’re ready for no energy consumption to achieve the same adhesion performance and resistance of all specifications, it is now possible at room temperature (20°C) within 48-72 hours.
Overprintable hot thermoplastic (HTP) inks
Thanks to the outstanding opacity of our organic overprintable HTP inks, it is not necessary to use a white base print anymore. Intense colors can be achieved individually by side-by-side printing of these new inks. Fine details such as letters and thin lines can still be overprinted. A full range of vibrant opaque colors covering the Pantone spectrum are available and a large number of color matches already have existing commercial references.
They also have special effects from neon to crystal – colors (transparent) and to metallic effects!
UV Peel-Off Film
Vibrantz has created a film which is simple, fast and precise to apply, easy to remove, cost-effective, and compatible with existing application technologies used by its customers, so that the process can be automated. The big challenge is to develop a product with reasonable integrity to the surface which does not fall-off immediately but that can be easily removed later.
In all cases, what is produced is a high quality, cost-effective, clear transparent window, embedded within a cured decorative coating. Additionally, if required, the design can be further enhanced by over-printing the window with organic inks, a feature that is not usually possible with earlier peel-off film systems. And critically, Vibrantz’ innovative technology provides the option of full automation.
