Alessandri Design develops sophisticated packaging for Batthyány wines
Vienna-based Alessandri Design & Brand Studio, founded by Cordula Alessandri and Hans Proschofsky, has designed a new label for Weingut Batthyány, a historic winery in Burgenland, Austria. The design aims to reflect the winery’s noble heritage while appealing to modern consumers.
It’s label draws from the Batthyány family’s Austro-Hungarian coat of arms, incorporating traditional elements that highlight the family’s longstanding influence in the region. It combines detailed embellishments with a minimalist layout, featuring typography and a muted colour palette to balance historical significance with a contemporary aesthetic.
Alessandri Design focused on creating a visual identity that aligns with the winery’s reputation for quality and its connection to tradition. The label uses subtle textures and precise detailing to convey a sense of craftsmanship and sophistication.
The new design seeks to position Batthyány wines as both premium and approachable, while emphasising their roots in Burgenland’s history. By blending heritage and modernity, the packaging is intended to appeal to both long-time enthusiasts and a new generation of wine drinkers.
