The beer glass that forces you to drink slower

A Japanese brewery has created a beer glass specifically designed to make alcohol consumption more challenging, with the aim of promoting moderation among drinkers.

Yoho Brewing Company, located in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, has revealed that drinking from its hourglass-shaped glass takes three times longer than from a standard glass. After six months of collaboration with the Tokyo Glass Art Institute, they developed this glass with a narrow opening of only 6 millimetres to slow down the beer flow.

The idea behind the 350 ml “Drink Slowly” is to discourage rapid beer consumption, thereby allowing each sip to be savoured more slowly, enhancing and appreciating its flavour.
