From champagne to jewelry: Daniel Arsham collaborates with Tiffany, Moët & Chandon
Earlier this fall, fellow LVMH maison Moët & Chandon announced its first collaboration with Arsham. In celebration of the Champagne house’s 280th anniversary, the artist created 70 limited-edition cases for Moet’s Collection Impériale Création N° 1, along with a large-scale artwork.
Arsham’s work was inspired by his visit to the Champagne maker’s vineyards: white cast resin evoked by the cellars’ chalk floors was his material of choice. The sculptural frieze measuring 1.3m high and 3m wide features elements including vines, the date Moët & Chandon was founded, the façade of the Château de Saran and a wooden wine barrel. It will become a permanent fixture in Moët & Chandon’s cellars.
Arsham also used white cast resin to create 70 shells in a Jeroboam format that encase 75cl bottles of Collection Impériale Création N°1, a blend of seven millésimes from different years. Collection Impériale Création N°1 bottles retail at €240, while the Jeroboam-sized shells created by Arsham cost €25,000.
